Pageant Rules

Pageant Rules
1. Contestants must be a single woman between 16-22 years old.

2. Contestants must not have children, be pregnant, or, if chosen as
the 2010 National Hamburger Festival Queen, become pregnant during her
reign.

3. Contestants should not have any visible tattoos or body piercings
exposed during the pageant, or when representing the National
Hamburger Festival as the Queen or a court member.

4. Contestants should plan on attending an Optional Preliminary event
on Lock 3 Stage for about 1 hour Friday evening, wearing a Queen
Contestant Sash, and the pageant on Saturday.

5. The 2010 National Hamburger Festival Queen and Court Members will
conduct themselves in a manner that reflects a good moral character,
kindness, and respect. This includes no smoking, drinking, using foul
or indecent language, and showing overly outward public displays of
affection, while representing the National Hamburger Festival.

6. Contestants should wear casual dressy attire for Friday night and
formal attire the day of the pageant. Queen and Court Members should
wear formal, semi-formal, or dressy casual, attire throughout their
attendance at the festival.

7. The 2010 National Hamburger Festival Queen must be able to commit
to at least 2 hours of festival time after the pageant on July 17, and
at least 4 hours of festival time on Sunday July 18. (Exceptions can
be made by the queen chairman for a previously scheduled school or
family function only!) This time will include assisting in the 2010
National Hamburger Festival Baby Burger Contest.

8. Court Members will also be needed to assist in the 2010 National
Hamburger Festival Baby Burger Contest on July 18.

9. In the case that the 2010 National Hamburger Festival Queen can no
longer meet these requirements, the 1st runner up will assume the
Queen position until the 2011 National Hamburger Festival.

10. Signatures on this application will be required prior to the start
of the pageant. A parent’s signature will be required for anyone under
18 at the time of the pageant. All applications must be received by
July 10, 2010!

11. Contestants will need to visit www.hamburgerfestival.com or
www.menchesbros.com for information on the history of the hamburger
and be prepared to answer a question on stage. All information asked
in the pageant will be taken directly from these websites. Questions
with answers will be available before the pageant backstage.

12. Applications can be printed and mailed or filled out online. All
applications must be submitted by July 10.
